It’s week FOUR of the One Room Challenge! – which means we’re in the home stretch! It’s also scary, becuase we have a lot of work left to do! The half-round that I needed for the feature wall was sold out and backordered everywhere and we only just got it delivered TODAY! Plus, we’re going out of town for a wedding this weekend… so we are really going to have to get our act together if we are going to finish in time (which we will)!
Also, a lot of the peices I’d selected for the design were out of stock / backordered until after the One Room Challenge deadline, so we had to make some changes. But, I’ll use this as an excuse to link the specific items we have in store for this room!
First: the rug. The rug is from Boutique Rugs and if you haven’t heard of them or checked them out, you are seriously missing out. This is the second rug I’ve gotten from Boutique Rugs and I’m super excited. They have a MASSIVE selection – I’m a super picky rug-buyer, but I always have the hardest time choosing a rug from Boutique Rugs becuase there are SO MANY that I want. We have a ton of super bold elements of this room, so I chose a neutral, lighter rug to hopefully tone it down a bit and give it some softness.
The next super-exciting thing is that we selected the fan – its a stunning, contemporary-yet-simple Casablanca Fans fan and I am HERE FOR IT. The fans that were in (every single room of) this house when we moved in were absolutely terrifying and barely provided any light. And since we are putting this house together room by room, the fans of doom are still in a lot of rooms.
The next part of this room reveal is especially exciting because I found an AMAZING SOURCE for faux florals: Bloomr. This bedroom does not get much natural light, which is a major bummer for someone like me with tiny (lol) plant obsession. Most faux plants are a disappointment and botanically incorrect, which makes me want to vom. But Bloomr’s plants are INSANELY realistic and designed by botanists. Hooray! I chose a couple of faux orchids and a big Bird of Paradise to give this room some flair:
And now for accent furniture! I found a couple of perfect peices made by HomePop (you can find their stuff at Target, Overstock, Wayfair, and Walmart – aka all my fave places for stylish decor that won’t break the bank).
