I’m so excited to finally show you all the nursery final reveal for the Better Homes and Gardens One Room Challenge! DISCLAIMER: The crib wall still isn’t done – for those who have been following along, we’ve had quite an ordeal with the wallpaper being back-ordered and the distributor telling us over and over again that “it will be overnighted tomorrow”… and we still don’t have it. We’re for real hoping it will come this week. I’ve really fallen in love with the wallpaper, so if it doesn’t come, I don’t know what we’re going to do! It’ll be back to the drawing board.
First … a little reminder of the “before”:

When we moved into our new house, we left this room as it came while we focused on other areas of the house, and it just became storage for the first year. And we slowly cleaned it out leading up to the One Room Challenge … and then we sold our furnished rental property and had to move alllllll of that furniture over to this room and then start all over with emptying it out. So that was fun! (Not! It set us back a few weeks, but no big deal!)
So here we go!

I love so many pieces about this room! First is the bleached jute rug from Rugs.com – I always struggle to find a perfect light jute rug and I am so glad I finally did! It’s the perfect color and texture and I love the subtle pattern.
Our glider (and storage bench!) and crib are both from Million Dollar Baby Classic. They have so many great pieces at really affordable prices. We selected the Louis 4-in-1 Convertible Crib in Warm White – I wanted a more traditional-style piece to play off of some of the more modern lines and styles we have elsewhere in the room. I’m very impressed with the quality and it didn’t take too long for my husband to put it together, either! I love that it’s convertible, so its something Baby Lewis can grow with, too!
A natural mattress was very important to me, considering how much sleeping (or… not sleeping) babies do in their cribs. We chose the Naturepedic Organic Breathable Baby Crib Mattress from Modern Nursery. We also went with the Naturepedic Organic Cotton Waterproof Fitted Crib Mattress Pad from Modern Nursery for some added protection.

We went with the Sadie Swivel Glider with storage ottoman in White Linen. I loved the idea of a storage ottoman. I also liked that, while the chair was a swivel glider, the ottoman was stationary. Some of the other ottomans were gliders as well – and I just don’t really think I’ll like that. I need some grounding in my seating! Haha! I was super impressed with the quality of the chair, and I love the white linen color; it works perfectly in the nursery.

I knew I had to have a Design Dua Bassinet. I went with the vegan one (no leather on handles), and the rocking stand. Its so beautiful and I can’t wait to use it! It’s light enough to move all around the house so I can keep an eye on baby girl while she’s sleeping.

The wall art is a gorgeous custom piece by Amanda Tucker. She’s a local Charleston artist and does some amazing motherhood pieces, as well as gorgeous other works. I’ve actually got a print by her in the nursery as well. Her work is absolutely stunning and surprisingly affordable! We’ve also got quite a few Solly Baby wraps and swaddles around the room – they are SO SOFT and you never can have too many!

I also knew from the get-go that I wanted a natural wood play gym, and I was really happy when I found Olive World Co., (coupon code: LIZ15) a US small business that makes gorgeous natural wooden baby toys and similar products. Since it’s all handmade in the US, there are a lot of custom options you can choose from to make things really fit your space. We went with some black accents to play off of the black accents in the room — and to give Baby Lewis some bold contrast for visual stimulation. We also got a wooden rattle and a wooden set of blocks. You can get the wood sealed in their custom food-grade wood sealer, or leave it raw. We did a combo.

The Lilypad Play Mat from Blabla Kids is another thing I knew I had to have as soon as I saw it! It’s so fun! They have a few other shapes and colors, as well.

The shelves are the Ikea Billy Shelves withe an added shelf at the top and the added cabinet doors, all of which we then made into built-in shelves (along with a bench we ordered from Wayfair). The dresser is also Ikea – it’s the Tarva unfinished dresser made of solid pine. We are sealing it with a colorless, matte finish to preserve the natural pine wood. It’s so pretty!
