It’s week 3 of the Better Homes and Gardens One Room Challenge!
This week we finished more demo – the tile floor has been removed, the vanity has been removed, toilet, etc. The window is being installed early in Week 4, and then we’ll be able to start rebuilding – tiling the shower / bath wall, floor tiling, and putting the vanity in and then working on finalizing the rest.
So until the fun parts start this coming week, I thought I’d run through our design in detail. We got all of our pieces from Build.com – including floor tile, wall tile, mirror, vanity, and shower/bath faucet and vanity faucet, shower door, lighting, and other hardware.

The bath/shower faucet, vanity faucet, and related hardware are all from Signature Hardware (via Build.com).
Most of the peices have been delivered now and I’m super impressed with the quality and finish of everything – this is going to be a MAJOR upgrade for our master bath and life generally and I CANNOT WAIT!
I wanted this bathroom to have a mixed of vintage and modern vibes, but to still feel bright and clean. I went with vintage-style tile flooring and chose some coopery-toned oil-rubbed bronze fixtures. I’m pairing that with a more modern while large subway tile that we’ll use for the shower walls. I almost went with actual copper fixtures – but I wanted it to be a vintage / patina’d copper and couldn’t really find exactly what I had envisioned, and the Signature Hardware oil-rubbed bronze had the right reddish tones that I was looking for, but still looked vintage/worn. It’s a true oil-rubbed bronze aesthetic instead of what is normally out there, which looks essentially solid black or solid dark, dark brown.
We chose a vanity with feet as opposed to one with a kickboard that goes all the way to the floor.
